Open Forum - Extensions in the Atrium

This open forum invites catechists into a thoughtful conversation about extensions in the atrium and their role in supporting the child’s relationship with the Good Shepherd lived in the atrium environment. We will explore what extensions are and what they are not, when they are developmentally appropriate, and how to introduce them in a way that respects the child’s work and freedom.

Grounded in the child’s plane of development, this gathering will look closely at the extensions suggested by CGSUSA in the Materials Manual. Together, we will examine how these extensions are presented, discuss practical ways to introduce and use them in the atrium, and share experiences from our own work with children.
