About Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Founded in 1954, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) offers a method of catechesis for children ages 3 through 12 through which children are helped in forming an authentic, faithful relationship with God. CGS is grounded in scriptural and liturgical study framed by Montessori's principles of education and understanding of the developmental needs of children.
The themes presented in the Atrium are taken from the Holy Bible and the Sacred Liturgy (the two pillars of CGS) as the fundamental sources for living and sustaining Christian life at every developmental stage.
