Catechist Financial Assistance

 

In supporting Catechists in their formation, OLGH CGS fulfills our mission to provide steady access to formation of new catechists through the OLGH CGS Scholarship Fund.  Lack of personal financial resources should not be a barrier to CGS formation, the OLGH CGS Scholarship fund seeks to ease the financial burden of those who desire to receive CGS Formation.  In addition to the resources listed below, please consider asking your parish and school organizations for financial support. ​​

OLGH CGS Scholarship Fund​

 

Eligibility for this scholarship includes membership in OLGH CGS and being registered members of a Parish in the Diocese of Spokane, Boise or Helena or employed in service for the faith formation of children or youth in the Diocese of Spokane, Boise or Helena if they live outside of these Dioceses. They must also be a fully initiated Catholic in good standing. Scholarship funds, up to 1/3 of tuition cost, will be granted based on our available funds, demonstrated financial need and a commitment by the recipient to serve the child's relationship with God through the method of CGS.

NOTE: It is expected that you will first seek local support from the community you will serve. Scholarships are only funded to cover tuition of courses. Travel/accommodation costs will not be covered by the OLGH CGS Scholarship.

The Tina Lillig Memorial Fund ​​

 

The mission of the Tina Lillig Memorial Fund is to support the growth and development of CGS through catechist formation, missionary outreach, and the work of CGSUSA. All applicants for financial aid or grants from the Fund must be a member of the United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and must have an accompanying recommendation.

 

​Applications are considered by the Tina Lillig Memorial Fund Advisory Committee up to two times a year or as funds are otherwise available for disbursement. Applications are considered in the order they are received.​​​​
